David Moscarelli is a science teacher, the digital portfolio coordinator, and the technology integration coordinator at Ponaganset High School in Glocester, R.I. David has taught science at the school for more than twenty-two years. His teaching covers a wide range of science courses, including AP environmental science, biology, alternative energy, animal behavior, microbiology, and physical science.
As the digital-portfolio coordinator at Ponaganset High School for the past twelve years, David led the design and implementation of one of the first digital-portfolio graduation requirements in the country. For the past twenty years, he has held various technology leadership positions at the school, working with his colleagues on the integration of technology in the classroom. He is currently working on supporting the first year of implementation of a one-to-one Chromebook environment along with the use of a learning management system to enhance student learning. David is the 2015 Rhode Island Teacher of the Year. David graduated with a bachelor’s degree in education from the University of Rhode Island, and he holds a master’s degree in biology education from Brown University. |
